A lovely specimen of a Cherry Bench, cut in Kerhonksen, NY several years ago to prevent damage to a home. The grain patterns of a major leader diverging from the main leader really caught my eye and I felt it was worth the time. All natural cracks and voids are epoxy filled and stabilized for a very smooth surface. In fact it has a ‘buttery’ feel to the wood. Finished simply with several coats of Tung oil and hand rubbed, this could also have Polyurethane added over the top if desired. Cherry benches will darken and mellow over time if exposed to sunlight, giving a beautiful coloring. Would Make a lovely stool or a pedestal for something special.
